POKOTABI / Teitei
亭亭
At Teitei, choose from Teitei ramen, miso ramen and bowls piled with chashu. Weekday specials and kimchi and spicy garlic chives add more ways to round out a meal.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
One of the appealing choices at Teitei is how prominently chashu features in the ramen menu. The basic Teitei Ramen with Egg comes with half a soft-boiled egg and wood ear mushrooms for ¥850; the Chashu Ramen, with a generous serving of pork, is ¥1,150. Some visitors have described the chashu in the Teitei Ramen as thick and satisfying. Another regular, meanwhile, enjoys alternating between the light tonkotsu broth and fried rice. Whether you want to focus on the chashu or add a rice dish, you can shape the meal to suit your appetite.
For a change from tonkotsu, try the Miso Ramen for ¥900. The version with a half soft-boiled egg and wood ear mushrooms is ¥950, and the Miso Chashu Ramen, topped with chashu as well, is ¥1,250. There is also a Spicy Spicy Ramen for those seeking more heat, at ¥800. On weekdays, a rotating extra dish is available with ramen. The menu lists rice on Monday, mini chashu rice bowls on Tuesday and Friday, a mini pork and egg rice bowl on Wednesday, and half-portion fried rice on Thursday; each is listed at ¥50. You might add more pork on a chashu rice bowl day, or go for fried rice instead—the changing options make it fun to plan your meal.
The menu also says that diners can help themselves to house-made kimchi and spicy garlic chives from the bar beside the entrance. Some diners have shared their impressions of adding these to their ramen. Try the spicy chives a little at a time to find the amount that suits you. Ramen sets with half-portion fried rice and mini chashu rice bowls are also on the menu. Whether you want a weekday special with lunch or a meal built around chashu, there are several ways to put together a satisfying spread.
